When a snack, pack, MAP, pharmaceutical or cornflake package's seal is too strong it becomes almost impossible to open, but too weak means it is liable to burst and spill its contents.   The solution is the updated and combined SIV seal, burst and altitude tester from Versaperm.

The equipment is non-destructive (except when burst-testing!), and can even test the seal strength of a bag when it is inside a box.  It has been designed to eliminate burst and spoiled packaging and is fully compliant with CE and ISO 9001 standards.  It can give a simple pass or fail test result.

As well as being able to test the seal and burst strength of a package's seal, the equipment incorporates an altitude test system which allows the user to simulate precisely what happens to the pack when it is transported at the low pressures and high altitudes that arise where products are sent airfreight or on a high-altitude truck.

Defective seals can dramatically shorten both the active shelf-life and the quality of products such as snacks, foods and medicines.  The Versaperm system allows you to balance the competing demands of the manufacturing and transportation with a consumer's ability to open the pack afterwards.

Results can be fed into a QC system to produce statistical results to allow the manufacturer to spot even minor trends early and stop them before they become a problem.
